Bybit and Plume launch RWA vaults to earn yield on idle stablecoins

Key facts

  • Bybit and Plume launched fixed income vaults for users holding idle stablecoins.
  • The vaults are backed by tokenised PIMCO and CMBI bond funds.
  • PLUME traded near $0.011 with a market cap around $22 million on 16 June 2026.

Bybit and Plume open bond vaults to stablecoin holders

Crypto exchange Bybit partnered with real-world asset (RWA) platform Plume to launch fixed income vaults for users holding idle stablecoins. The companies announced the product, called RWA Earn, on 15 June 2026. Account holders can subscribe through Bybit Earn's RWA section without moving funds off the exchange. DigiFT, a digital asset platform licensed in Singapore and Hong Kong, operates the tokenised infrastructure alongside Plume. Subscriptions run through regulated tokenisation systems supplied by both firms.

Vaults route stablecoins into PIMCO and CMBI funds

The vaults are backed by two tokenised institutional bond funds. The PIMCO Dynamic Income Opportunities Fund allocates across corporate debt, mortgage-backed securities, government bonds, bank loans, and emerging market instruments. The CMBI Investment Grade Bond Fund targets investment-grade bonds across Asian and global credit markets. The strategies give users exposure to traditional credit markets rather than token price swings. Plume estimates that $25 billion to $80 billion in stablecoins sit idle on centralised exchanges, a pool the product aims to put to work.

Stablecoin supply tops $300 billion this year

Stablecoin supply surpassed $300 billion in 2026, according to the announcement. Much of that balance earns nothing while it sits in exchange accounts. Bybit said eligible users can move existing stablecoin balances into the vaults to target fixed income returns.
